EMPLOYMENT NEWS: Bosses are key to raising employee confidence!
Friday, August 8th, 2014 @ 09:50 am
61% of workers say encouragement and motivation from bosses raised their confidence levels at work, according to a survey by TipTopJob.
The report, provided by the International Job Board, analysed the perception of bosses among their employees and how this affected their wellbeing.
The survey was carried out in anticipation of National Hug Your Boss Day and showed that not every employee shares the same enthusiasm about their boss as others – as 39% have negative feelings about their bosses.
14% believe that their bosses cause stress and headache whilst 1 in 4 believe they feel devalued and want to quit their job because of their superior.
National Hug Your Boss Day, which falls on August 22, was created in 2008 with the sole intention of building awareness of the employee/boss relationship.
With the average working week amounting to 40 hours, the report's authors stressed the importance of ensuring healthy and positive working relationships, adding that employees will feel motivated to work harder and achieve greater results for the company if there are constructive relations between them and their boss.
